Our First Christmas
A love story during a couple's first Christmas together.

Guidelines: a 3-4 minute narrative story utilizing different color lighting​
​"Our First Christmas" is a holiday romance inspired by the spirit of Christmas and cheesy Hallmark movies. My idea evolved from my love for Christmas. Right away, I wanted it to be about romance. I wrote about having interpersonal conflicts during the stress around the holidays. As well as commentary on how miscommunication can create a large obstacle. One thing I noticed was that there aren’t a lot of LGBT romance Christmas movies out there. So I wanted to do something different and show some diversity. One challenge I had was finding a large enough setting to film in. Even though we were working in a small space, I was able to adjust the lighting and camera position to make things feel less crowded than they actually are.
MAS Commercial
An advertisement for the Media, Arts and Science program at IU-Indy

Guidelines: 30 second commercial
This project is meant to showcase the process of video production and the work of the MAS Program. I worked with a team of students and created my own edited version of the commercial. I learned a lot more about working with different types of equipment. I enjoyed working as part of a team and gaining real-world experience. The most challenging part of the post-production process for me was color correcting. But, using the new skills I was just taught, I was able to build my confidence with color grading. It was another project that helped me grow with the skills I’ve been learning through my time at IU.
